Not Born in Strife...

Not Created to Protect Anything...

Born for the Purpose of Happy Existence in a Harsh World...

The Honey Badgers were born of two larger clans. The first clan was The Pyreal Tower. It was based in Samsur, an oasis in the A’mun desert. It’s monarch, aptly named The Pyreal Tower, was a monarch whose purpose was to serve his numerous followers. He was, at one time, one of the largest monarchs in Dereth. Sadly, he and his companion Quill left Dereth one day, unbeknownst to most of his followers.

Those who would one day become The Honey Badgers faced a choice of monarchs. Pyreal Sun was a wealthy, yet perhaps miserly, mage who had, de facto, organized The Pyreal Tower monarchy for some time. However, Pyreal Sun was found unfavorable to many future Honey Badgers. They, instead, opted for another mage named Hell-Spawn. His name would prove prophetic.

The Hell-Spawn clan was organized by the aforementioned monarch and some close associates from a land far across the ocean. When his autority was questioned by honorable member of the clan, the member was personally insulted. In a move as subtle and as lethal as a Zharalim, Hell-Spawn lurched behind the back of the clansman and attemped at his removal. Other clansmen, upon discovering the acts of their monarch, left the clan for greener pastures. The monarch of this rag-tag group also chose to bestow titles upon some, whilst ignoring the accomplishments of others. Many others took yet another insult from their monarch. In time, a great exodus would would rise from Clan Hell-Spawn under the line of Rand Althor.

What would become to this group of adventurers and friends? Several councils were held, and the lines of Ulath Pyreal and Abinitio decided to merge under the leadership of Marius, an old friend and powerful war mage. As a group, it was decided that this would not be a clan like the previous ones. Members would work cooperatively so that all might benefit. After a geographically-local economic disaster which destroyed the population of Ayan Baqur, some Honey Badgers chose to move to a remote fort near Danby’s Outpost known affectionately by it’s tenants as Ph0r+ Ph4+. Others yet chose to remain in Ayan Baqur or other locales across Dereth.

It should be noted that this group of fellow adventurers have yet to meet as a whole to resolve an issue, yet have on several occasions have come together to improve a member's life in Dereth. The Honey Badgers stand as a bastion of good will and lightheartedness in the often absurdly tense tense world in which we live. May the Poet continue to guide and smile upon the actions of The Honey Badgers.
